WPT Cambodia: China’s Yunsheng Sun Wins Kickoff Event; Two Indians Score FT Finishes

The inaugural WPT Cambodia running from November 16-25 at NagaWorld offers 18 events with buy-ins ranging from $250 to $10,000. The biggest highlight of the series will be its $1,100 Main Event (November 21-25) that guarantees a whopping $250,000 prize pool. The series has already kicked off with various side events on the run. Yesterday saw its Kickoff Event coming to a close. The $440 buy-in event drew a total of 212 entries and created a prizepool of $82,256.  The largest share of the prizepool went to China’s China’s Yunsheng Sun who topped the field to win $19,983.

Taking part in the event was a small group of Indians and three among them – Rajneesh Katoch (8th for $2,394), Raju Jaruplavath (9th for $1,999 ), and Paawan Bansal (20th for $987) finished ITM. Apart from the two Indian players, the FT included Anthony Do (7th), Bin Mohammad Muhei (6th), Mengyin Zhang (5th place ), Ong Xun Keith (4th place) and Michael Norman (3rd place).

Finally, it came to heads-up between Yunsheng Sun and Lai Heng Foo. The latter did well and doubled up twice but he could not go all the way, eventually finishing runner-up for $13,871.
