WPTOI 2021 Week 2: WPT SHR Champion Gaurav Sood, Anant Purohit & Neel Joshi End The Week As Top Winners

The 25 Crore GTD WPT Online India (WPTOI) 2021 powered by Adda52.com is now in full swing. This past Sunday, the prestigious online poker series completed its second week that witnessed several amazing performances. Let us check out the top highlights from the first two weeks of the festival!

#1.Gaurav “gauravarod” Sood – INR 38.02 Lac In Winnings 

Since its start on 1st August, the WPT Online India has been setting the Adda52 felts on fire. The series has so far attracted more than 94K entries across 457 events (including mega, mini, and micro tourneys). The first week of the series belonged to the 24-year-old Neel ‘neeljoshi23’ Joshi who registered a thumping victory in the 60 Lac GTD WPT India Mini High Roller to win his career-first WPT Trophy and INR 16.47 Lac, the single largest score in the first week. This past week, however, was all about the 25-year-old poker phenom Gaurav “gauravarod” Sood, who trounced an 88-strong field in the 1 Crore GTD WPT India Super Highroller on 12th August, earning a grand WPT Trophy and a personal-best INR 32.60 Lac. Sood’s massive Super Highroller victory took his winnings from ongoing the series to a total of INR 38,02,474, helping him overtake last week’s winningest player Neel Joshi to top this past week’s charts. #2. Anant “Pro_baba” Purohit – INR 24.61 Lac In Winnings

 While the WPT Super High Roller champion Sood was this past week’s top scorer, it does not take away Anant “Pro_baba” Purohit’s smashing run. The first week’s 20 Lac GTD WPT India Bounty Championship winner ran deep across various marquee events to effortlessly climb to the second spot on the second week’s charts. His biggest score of the week came in the 1 Crore GTD WPT Super High Roller on August 12 where he finished third for a hefty INR 12.98 Lac. He then finished runner-up in the 15 Lac GTD WPT Saturday Special for INR 2.17 Lac on 14th August. He also scored an ITM finish in the 15 Lac GTD WPT Mega Stack on 15th August, taking his winnings from the ongoing series to INR 24.61 Lac. #3: Neel ‘neeljoshi23’ Joshi – INR 16.60 Lac In Winnings

The first week’s top scorer Neel ‘neeljoshi23’ Joshi, who had won the 60 Lac GTD WPT India Mini High Roller for a hefty INR 16.47 Lac on 5th August, moved down to the third spot in the second week of the series. He did not make much of an impact on the Adda52 felts this past week and could notch up just one ITM finish that came in the 25 Lac GTD WPT Gladiator (12th August) where he finished 29th for INR 13,125, taking his total tally of winnings from the series to an impressive INR 16.60 Lac.

With his runner-up finish for a hefty INR 16,24,507 in the WPT Super High Roller this past week, Manoj “thatsmymoney” Pentakota moved to the fourth spot in terms of winnings from the series.

Raghav “FuckedUpLife” Siddalinga is the most consistent performer at the series so far. Currently sitting on top of the WPTOI Mega Leaderboard with 849 points, he climbed to the fifth position this past week with his total winnings worth INR 13.25 Lac. It has been a heck of an online series for Siddalinga. He has been so consistent and has already has racked up 7 top 10  finishes in the trophy events. As for the titles from the series, he has picked up two WPT titles over the last two weeks, which included winning the WPT Moonlight for INR 1.5 Lac and WPT Late Night PLO for INR 76,800.

A total of 27 Trophy Events had been run and won over the last 2 weeks. Notably, Ashish Ahuja (WPT Gladiator & WPT 3000) and Ankit Wadhawan (WPT Wednesday Rush & WPT Friday Feature) are the only players to have won two trophy events from the series so far. Currently sitting at 2nd and 3rd respectively, they are chasing Siddalinga in a very close Mega Leaderboard race.

Highest Number Of Mini Tourney Titles: Notably, four players have won three mini tourney titles and they include online MTT regs in Mohak “sparkie” Kapoor, Vijendra “sadhu16” Kumar SharmaAvinash Kumar aka “I_fart_you_faint” and Aditya Singh aka “konstantin”.

Highest Number of Micro Tourney Titles: Amandeep Singh aka ‘amanpoker27’ has racked up the highest number of the micro tourney titles. He has won an incredible 28 micro tourneys in the last two weeks and is currently on top of the WPTOI Micro Leaderboard with a total of 2865 points.

Highest Number of Mega Tourney Titles: Interestingly, Ashish Ahuja (WPT Gladiator & WPT 3000) and Ankit Wadhawan (WPT Wednesday Rush & WPT Friday Feature) have won two trophy events.

Highest Number of Entries In Single Event:1119 (1Cr WPT Unreal Flight 6) on 6th August.

Only Female to win a trophy event at the series so far: Saumya Agarwal aka “bigcards” is the only female player to win a trophy from the WPTOI series so far. She had championed the 15 Lac GTD WPT Monday Feature in the first week to win a cool INR 3.67 Lac & a grand WPT trophy.
