With the first DPT series of 2022 just a few days away now, we decided to take a trip down memory lane to rekindle those good old live poker days in Goa by featuring the top winners from the fourth DPT edition held at the luxurious Deltin Royale casino in Goa from 23rd to 27th February 2017.
Powered by Adda52, the fourth edition was resounding success. Featuring an increased guaranteed prize pool of INR 1.5 Crore GTD, it was thronged by a large number of players, with all the events crushing their respective guarantees. We saw record-breaking turnouts with the 10K Kickoff event drawing in 354 entries, the 60K High Roller with 50 Lac GTD attracting an impressive 202-entry field and the Main Event 55 Lac GTD registering 303 entries to generate a prizepool of INR 1.06 Crores.
As many as 1263 entries enrolled for the fourth edition of the series and a whopping INR 3.23 Crores was distributed in the prize pool, making it the most successful DPT edition. The action began with an online 5K Warm-Up (won by Adda52 Game Ambassador Kunal Patni for INR 2,13,000) and ended with Delhi’s Imran Khan winning the Main Event for INR 28.35 Lac. DPT 35K Main Event (INR 55 Lac GTD)
The crowning glory of the series was the 55 Lac GTD Main Event, which drew 303 entries leading to a prize pool of INR 1.06 crores that was shared among the top 30 finishers. The event included old hands as well as first-timers. Of the latter, debutant Imran Khan shipped the tourney and banked INR 28.35 Lac. The Delhi lad who was playing his first live tournament started the final table as a chip leader and went to ship it after defeating Neelabh Baranga (2nd for INR 17.32 Lac) in the heads-up.
The final hand of the 2-day tourney saw Baranga moving all-in with with Ac 7h and Khan made the call with 10h 10s. The board ran out Qh 6c Kh 4c 3s and Khan won the pot with his pocket tens.

DPT 60K High Roller (INR 50L GTD)
The 60K High Roller featuring a massive INR 50 Lac GTD prize pool also fared pretty well, drawing in 202 entries and more than doubling its GTD with a total prize pool collection of INR 1.21 Crores that eventually got distributed among the 20 players, with a min-cash of INR 1.2 Lac that went to Vikram Verma. Rajat Jain was leading the survivors at the end of Day 1 but when the dust settled, the title was shipped by Vishkhapatnam-based Manoj Pentakota who took home INR 33 Lac in prizemoney.
The 28-year-old Mechanical Engineer eventually outlasted Manish Jain (2nd for INR 21 Lac) in the heads-up play. Pentakota started the FT with the second largest stack behind the chip leader Kartik Ved but stayed under the radar till it came to heads-up. Jain was ahead at the beginning of the heads-up but Pentakota made his way to the top. The final hand of the high roller saw Jain with Js 10s and Pentakota with 9h 9c. The board 9d Jc Qc Ac 4c gave the pot and the title to Pentakota.
This edition of DPT also saw popular Bollywood celebrities like Rajat Kapoor, Minissha Lamba and Kunal Khemu. Khemu among them made a deep run, finishing in the 19th place for INR 1.2 Lac.

DPT 10K Kickoff (INR 15L GTD)
Among the other prominent winners at the series was a well-known pro Jasven Saigal who shipped series opener 10K kickoff for INR 8.85 Lac. The 10K Kickoff was a 15 Lac GTD event that drew 354 entries, more than doubling its GTD and creating INR 35.40 Lac shared by the top 40 finishers.
Jasven started the final table with the fourth lowest stack but did well to enter the heads-up with Bobbe Suri as a chip leader. The heads-up lasted only 18 minutes and the final hand saw Jasven with 7s 3c and Suri with 3h 2d. The board ran out Kh Ah Jd Jc 7h, giving Jasven the coveted title.

DPT 15K Bounty & 15K 6-Max PLO Winners
Among the other prominent winners, Banman Warr took down the DPT 15K Bounty, winning INR 7,24,410. He overcame a massive field of 271 entries, including the well-known poker pro Deepak Bothra (2nd for INR 4,42,692) in heads-up. The final hand saw Banman moving all-in with 10h 5c and Bothra called with his 7h 4s. The board ran out Jd 9d 3d Qh Jc, giving the title to Banman.
The man who picked up the last trophy of the series was Jagdeep Singh. He won the DPT 15K 6-Max PLO for INR 5,80,000, after defeating a field of 133 entries. In the heads-up, he finally defeated Sagar Tuteja whose Qd-9d-3d-3c lost to Singh’s Ks-10c-5d-2d on the board reading 6c-4s- Ad-Qh-Jd.
