Team India has showcased an outstanding performance at the U Series of Poker (USOP) 2023, securing several titles, including victories by Amit Kaushik and Vinay B. On Sunday, Rohit Begwani clinched India’s third series trophy in Event #50: VN₫ 3.4 Million Hyper Turbo. Known for his previous victory in 2018 The MoneyMaker 6.0, Begwani finished as the runner-up in Event #26: VN₫ 4.50 Million Turbo last week and banked VN₫ 46.90 Million (INR 1.61 Lac). Additionally, he landed an eighth-place finish in Event #31: VN₫ 8.8 Million Turbo, winning VN₫ 26.30 Million (INR 90,474).
On Sunday, Begwani also made Day 2 of the Main Event but was eliminated in 144th place for VN₫ 49.10 Million (INR1.69 Lac). He later joined Event #50: VN₫ 3.4 Million Hyper Turbo and triumphed over 67 contenders (46 unique players), seizing the top prize of VN₫ 69.10 Million (INR 2.38 Lac), marking his biggest live tournament achievement to date. His series performance comprised four cash finishes, including this remarkable victory, with total earnings reaching VN₫ 191 Million (INR 6.58 Lac).
The Main Event’s final day was led by Singapore’s The Naing holding a massive stack of 12.35 Million chips. Among the 15 Indians advancing to Day 2, only Ritwik Khanna made it to Day 3, starting with the shortest stack of 920,000 chips. Khanna, who had secured his first live title in the DPT Warm-Up NLH Turbo last month, fought bravely but was eliminated in 15th place, earning VN₫ 331.70 Million (INR 11.41 Lac). This marked Khanna’s first cash at the series and his best live tournament score.
Other notable performances in the main event came from the Day 1B chip leader Meherzad Munsaf (35th for VN₫ 125.30 Million) (INR 4.31 Lac), Event #5: VN₫ 3.4 Million Turbo champion Amit Kaushik (37th for VN₫ 104.10 Million) (INR 3.58 Lac), Manoj Pentakota (40th for VN₫ 104.10 Million) (INR 3.58 Lac), and former USOP Main Event champion Vishal Ojha (55th for VN₫ 79.80 Million) (INR 2.73 Lac).
Additionally, Kabir Khattar (76th for VN₫ 68.70 Million) (INR 2.36 Lac), Mohit Bohra (98th for VN₫ 62.30 Million) (INR 2.14 Lac), Harsh Bubna (102nd for VN₫ 59.10 Million) (INR 2.03 Lac), Arun Vijay (110th for VN₫ 56.30 Million) (INR 1.94 Lac), Aditya Singh (118th for VN₫ 53.90 Million) (INR 1.85 Lac), Event #40: VN₫ 88 Million Mystery Rush Bounty winner Vinay B (124th for VN₫ 53.90 Million) (INR1.85 Lac), Deepankur Gupta (129th for VN₫ 51.50 Million) (INR 1.77 Lac), Rohit Begwani (144th for VN₫ 49.10 Million) (INR 1.69 Lac), Avneesh Munjal (154th for VN₫ 44.90 Million) (INR 1.54 Lac), and Siddharth Karia (176th for VN₫ 40.70 Million) (INR 1.40 Lac) also cashed the main event.
