Yesterday saw Adda52 hosting its Godfather X, the first one in its 10th series. The 20 Lac guaranteed event that also offers a chance to win a 9 Lac Europe Package began at 8 PM and ran a full 8 hours course, drawing a field of 405 entries and generating 20 Lac+ prizepool, which was shared by the top 43 finishers. While there were several big names in the fight for the win, it was eventually Aditya Degala aka ‘eatingseeds’ who emerged the winner after beating a solid reg in Chirag Sodha. Degala took home INR 5,02,200, while Sodha had to settle for INR 3,03,750 as a runner-up finisher.
The event saw many notable regs and some of them to finish deep were Ashish Garg (6th for INR 70,875), Amjad Pasha (7th for INR 55,688), Chandan Arora (9th for INR 32,400) and Devrat Singh (10th for INR 25,313). Some other notable players seen in action were WSOP solo bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (11th for INR 25,313), Naren Purohit (12th for INR 25,313), last week’s Big Slick winner Akshay Nasa (14th for INR 20,250), Naresh Rathnam (15th for INR 20,250), Smita Agarwalla (17th for INR 20,250) and the Godfather 9.0 SNG winner Ujjwal Narwal (20th for INR 17,213).
Coming back to the winner Degala, this win in Godfather X was his best score on Adda52. However, it was not the first cash for him as the player has already cashed in several key tournaments, including Godfather 9.0, Blaze, Big Slick and other majors on Adda52. When asked about how he felt to win his first Godfather, he said, “It feels really awesome! I have been running deep in many majors lately and it’s nice to finally get a big score out of the way. A big shout-out to Sagar Patnaik and Sandeep Varma for helping me improve my game to a level where I am able to consistently play these mtts.”
Talking about his run, he said, “I was a short stack going into the bubble stage, but I chipped up during that phase and built a big chip lead by the final two tables. I lost quite a bit of my stack in a 3-bet pot and was among the middle stacks by the FT bubble. The FT bubble literally lasted for an hour, no one was ready to bust. My stack kept swinging from short to medium. Luckily, I ran good and soon managed to ship it!”
