Muskan Sethi Wins 2018 GUKPT Boxing Day Special To Claim Her First-Ever Live Title

Adding to the delight this Christmas was Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) that hosted a Christmas-special poker event – ‘2018 GUKPT Christmas Cracker’ that comprised of seven exciting poker tournaments covering seven regions across the UK. Running from 17th – 23rd December, each Christmas Cracker promised £20,000 in guaranteed prizepool and carried a £100+15 buy-in.

While the Christmas Cracker saw many winners, one among these winners was our very own Muskan Sethi who won the Boxing Day Special event at the Victoria Casino in London to earn her first live title. Sethi took home the first-place prize of £4,900 (INR 4,34,493) after a 4-way deal.

Sethi was really happy after taking down her first-ever live title and she said, “It is my first live title and is very precious to me. I just made bold moves, and pulled the trigger at the correct spots.”

The Boxing Day Special that featured a buy-in of £330 pounds generated £33,900 in prizepool. Moving into the final table, Sethi played some top-notch poker and made her way to the top. After a 4-way deal was agreed, Sethi eventually moved into heads-up where her opponent held jack-ten and she had Ah 2h. The board brought An Ace and that sealed the win for our female player Sethi.

Sethi had also taken part in the £115 buy-in Christmas Cracker where she made it to Day 2 with a massive chip lead. However, Day 2 was not her day perhaps as she took a brutal bad beat in a three way all-in pot where she had pocket aces against ace-king and ace-queen. Unfortunately for Sethi, the player with ace-queen won the pot and Sethi was eliminated in 17th place for £590 (INR 52,316).

Currently ranking 78th in India’s All Time Money List with $55,044 in total live earnings, Sethi secured her best live cash last year in February when she finished 8th for $13,107 in the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Main Event. This win in the Boxing Day Special event is Sethi’s best score this year. Her second best score this year came when she finished 5th for $6,682 (INR 4,27,600) in the 2018 DPT February High Roller.
