Aniket Waghmare Bags the Chip Lead Among 90 Survivors From Day 1A of DPT 35K Main Event

The 1.2 Crore GTD DPT 35K Main Event has completed it’s first starting flight. A total of 264 entries came for the opening flight, with 90 of them surviving the day’s onslaught and making it to Day 2.

Online MTT beast Aniket Waghamre (280,500) emerged as the chip leader with Abishek Lath (218,000) and Girish Bhavnani (201,000) being the other big stacks from Day 1A of the main event.

We caught the action on the flop 9d 8c Js, Sahil Nair leads out with 10k and Pankaj moves all-in for 59k. Action back on Nair and he makes a snap call. At the showdown:

Pankaj gets two pairs but Nair hits straight to take down the pot and bust Pankaj in the process.

This edition of the DPT is turning out to be a mega success with a large turnout across all events so far.

Today saw the start of the most-awaited event – 1.2 Crore GTD Main Event and it fared pretty well, with Day 1A of the event registering 264 entries. Stay tuned in for the final entry count and payouts.

In a three-way action pre-flop, Niranjan NJ from UTG and Sahil Nair from Cutoff limp and Varun Gupta from small blind raises to 2500. Action on Niranjan and he re-raises to 5.5k, both Sahil and Gupta call.

Flop: 3s Qh 5s

Gupta from small blind checks, Niranjan bets 7k, and Sahil goes all-in for 27k. Gupta folds and Niranjan tank-calls.

River: 8c

Sahil shows As 4s and Niranjan tables pocket jacks. Sahil hits flush and doubles-up.

While everyone else folds, Jagat makes the call and both players take to the flop.

Sahil checks and Jagat goes all-in for 29k, which Sahil tank-calls.

Zarvan Tumboli from UTG opens to 700 and Aniket Sharma from late position raises to 2100, which Zarvan re-raises to 7k. Aniket shoves all-in for 25k and Zarvan shoves all-in for a stack of 18k.

The board runs out Qd Qh 10s 6c 3d, giving Aniket quads to win the pot and bust Zarvan.

Some Notables In The Field

Level 2 (Blinds 100-200 & Ante 0)

As the tournament clock shows, there are 60 players in the field but this number is bound to shoot up in next one hours with many players being in line for the registration to the event. Meanwhile, some of the notables who can be seen in action include female poker pro Niharika Bindra, Alok Birewar, Suarabh Arora, veteran pro Sangeeth Mohan, Kshitij Kucheria, and Rajesh Rajpopat.

DPT Main Event Day 1A Underway

Level 1 (Blinds 100-100 & Ante 0)

The first of the three starting flights at the 1.2 Crore GTD DPT 35K Main Event has begun. The tournament featuring a whopping 1.2 Crore GTD runs from 16th to 18th April. Day 1A will run 13 levels of 30 minute each, with all surviving players coming back for Day 2 on Monday, 18th April.

Players start with 30k stack at blinds of 100-100. Late registration will close at the end of level 9.

There is another starting flight, Day 1B Turbo (13 levels of 20 minutes each), starting at 9 PM today.

The last starting flight (Day 1C) takes place tomorrow, 17th April.
